Are there free tattoo gallery anymore?

I am thinking of getting my sons name and footprints tattooed on my foot. I have never got a tattoo before and am looking for ideas for the lettering. Every site I have visited wants me to pay to see pics. Does anyone know where I can view free tattoo pics? Thanx

What area are you in? I ended up finding the guy I go to off of craig's list. He had a myspace page and I was able to look at all the guy's in the shop portfolio's online. I would ask on craig's list and someone will give you a link. Most tattoo artists are not going to have you pay to look at their pic's since they want to provide you with a service. That seems unusual.

Why would you want to look at an image that has been marketed to the masses? Your likelihood of running into someone with the same generic tattoo definitely increases if you seek out a flash image. Here's a tip, think about the image that you want, go to the library, research the image, what it means, artists who have rendered it, compile multiple images that you find and narrow it down from there. A tattoo should mean something, it shouldn't be some cheesy image you find on the computer- tattoo artists love to hate people like that. You give them money for something they've put on a million other people, you walk away feeling like a million bucks, they laugh at you behind your back. Come up with it yourself- that's the most important part of the process.

You are asking for tattoo pics for free so essentially you would need to do a google search for free tattoo pics and then sign up to those services to use free flash designs – generic tattoos.
What is posted to places like bmezine, ratemyink, etc. are tattoos already done on people…these are not free, folks. These are tattoos that are already TATTOOED – get it, people OWN this work.
As reputable tattoo artists, we certainly don't mind if people bring in this sort of thing for examples but never do we copy someone else's work. It is unethical.
